Why didn't my PDF get smaller?
This tool optimizes PDF object storage rather than recompressing photos. Already optimized PDFs and scanned documents may stay the same size or become larger. File-size reduction is not guaranteed.
Will the text still be selectable?
Existing text stays as text; pages are not converted into images. Scanned pages do not become searchable because this tool does not perform OCR.
Can I compress a password-protected PDF?
Use an unlocked PDF. This tool does not remove passwords or change document permissions.
